Welcome to the New Era of Football Development
The 2026/27 season marks an exciting milestone for youth football as the FA introduces the new 3v3 format at Under 7 level as part of the Future Fit programme. The aim is simple: give every child more touches of the ball, more opportunities to make decisions, and more enjoyment from the game. Research has shown that smaller-sided games increase player involvement, technical actions and physical activity, creating a better environment for long-term player development.
At Richmondshire Pro Player, our U7 programme has been designed specifically around these principles.
